Drysdale Field - Flagler College
History
Located in St Augustine, FL, Drysdale Field at Flagler College was dedicated in 2011 and named after long-time Flagler donor Wallace Drysdale. With all decade teams and pro players listed near the concession stand, Flagler couples the future of the program while honoring the players of the past. Originally opened as Flagler Stadium in 2000, Drysdale Field is located just on the edge of Flagler's campus.
Atmosphere
With free admission and parking, a night at Flagler is easy to pop into and that leads to a good crowd even for a midweek. All seating is general admission, and it's a mix of chairbacks and bleachers - chairbacks in the section directly behind home plate, bleachers on either side.
Concessions
There is a small concession stand serving your ballpark favorites - Coke products, popcorn, and hotdogs along with candy and chips. One thing of note, though, is that the concession stand is cash only, which is unexpected with how many stadiums have moved to card only. There is nothing online mentioning this that I found, so I'm flagging it for you to bring cash.
Access
Not far from I-95, St Augustine is mostly known for its beaches and being Florida's oldest city. This leads to not only the entire city being easily accessible by car, but also having plenty of hotels in and in the closest cities to the city. It's a roughly 45 minute drive from Jacksonville, which gives you additional hotel options if there's an event happening in St Augustine.
Final Thoughts
Even with limited shade, Drysdale Field is a gorgeous park. To me, one of the highlights is the large alligator mural along the right field line, giving Flagler a spark of something different. All their sports are in the same complex, meaning that if you time it right, it would be easy to also catch a softball game on the same day. The biggest thing is to bring cash for concessions, especially since that's out of the usual.
