QV Lowe Field - Auburn University - Montgomery
History
QV Lowe Field at Auburn University - Montgomery (AUM) opened in 1987 and was dedicated in 2020 to the longtime Warhawks head coach. Featuring brick dugouts, an updated scoreboard, and a small pavilion for fans down the left field lounge, the stadium holds 600 and is a good size park for a D2 university. AUM has made it to the D2 College World Series four times, and has made 20 regional appearances, most recently in 2024.
Atmosphere
Fans at QV Lowe Field are passionate and knowledgeable about the game - they stay engaged the entire time and clearly know the team well. Most folks sit in the seating behind home plate, though there were a handful of people who brought lawn chairs and sat along the baseline. The reserved sections are closest to the plate and feature chairbacks, while general admission is bleachers. It makes for a lively atmosphere and definitely gives AUM a nice homefield advantage.
Concessions
There are two concession stands, one behind the seating and one right as you walk into the gate. They have the same items, ballpark classics like candy, hot dogs, and popcorn. They serve Coke products as well, though no fountain, just bottles.
Access
AUM sits just off of I-85 running directly though Alabama, fairly easily accessible from any direction. There is free parking just across the road from the stadium, and a crosswalk to make walking across easy. There are plenty of hotels in Montgomery since it's the state capitol, though ride share can be limited depending on time of day.
Final Thoughts
QV Lowe field is everything you want out of a D2 park - easy parking, comfortable seating, classic concessions, and good baseball with a team culture dedicated to keeping up a winning standard.
