When you watch a lot of baseball, especially this late in the season, the pace of a game becomes routine. There are highlight plays and hits, sure, but you know vaguely what to expect when you come to the park.

Game two in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament was anything but, as Georgia State and Old Dominion had to stop play for a lengthy delay not for weather or injury, but because first base had come loose and couldn't get popped into place. At least thirty minutes and a new base later, both teams retook the field and Georgia State never looked back.

The bats for Georgia State started off hot as Wesley Bass, Adam Haber, Hunter Carlson all drove in runs in the first two innings for the Panthers. After a bit of a break in hitting from both teams, Nick Garagozzo took a ball 340 feet to right to give the Panthers a 7-0 lead in the 5th. Additional runs came off the bats of Brandon Davis and Cole Griffith, and the Panthers cruised to an 16 run win over the Monarchs. By the end of the game, every batter for the Panthers had a run, a hit and an RBI. Not only that, but Georgia State would not need their bullpen, as pitcher Cole Roberts would pitch a complete game, giving up only two hits and striking out five.

For Old Dominion, Maverick Stallings would give the Monarchs their only hits of the game on a single to the left side in the 2nd and a homer in the bottom of the 7th.

Georgia State will play Southern Miss in Game 5 of the tournament on Wednesday; first pitch is scheduled for 4p CT.
