History

Target Field opened in 2010 as the home of the Minnesota Twins, replacing the Metrodome and bringing outdoor baseball back to Minnesota. Located in downtown Minneapolis, the ballpark was designed to embrace the city skyline and give fans a more traditional baseball experience with awesome views regardless of where you sit. Despite Minnesota’s cold early-season weather, the move to an open-air stadium has been widely embraced.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere at Target Field really shines on warm summer nights. The downtown backdrop adds to the charm, and when the team is in contention, the crowd can get loud in a hurry. If you want the best view of the skyline, make sure you sit along the third base line. There’s a nice mix of die-hard fans and families, giving the park a fun but relaxed vibe.

Concessions

Target Field is often praised for its food options. Alongside ballpark classics like hot dogs and popcorn, you’ll find Minnesota-inspired items, walleye dishes, cheese curds, and plenty of local craft beer. The stadium does a great job showcasing regional flavors, so it feels less generic than some parks. Whether you want something traditional or uniquely local, there’s plenty to choose from. A special shoutout to the Indian food available at Section 120!

Access

One of Target Field’s biggest perks is how easy it is to reach. It’s right in downtown Minneapolis and connected to public transportation, including the METRO light rail and Northstar commuter rail. Many fans walk from nearby bars, restaurants, and hotels. Driving is an option too, with several parking ramps nearby, but public transit is often the simplest way to go on busy game days.
