History

Wrigley Field opened in 1914 and has been the iconic home of the Chicago Cubs ever since. Located in the heart of Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, it’s the second-oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball and famous for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-turned scoreboard, and historic charm. The history of Wrigley is a big part of its charm, and it's clear throughout the park that as little as possible has changed since 1914.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere at Wrigley Field is electric, especially on sunny summer days. Cubs fans pack the stands and spill into the surrounding streets, creating a neighborhood-block party vibe. The rooftop bleachers across the street add to the energy, and chants like “Go Cubs Go!” echo throughout the stadium. Outside the stadium, Wrigleyville is a great hangout spot in the hours before and after the game.

Concessions

Wrigley Field’s concessions mix classic ballpark fare with Chicago favorites. You can grab your standard hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos, or indulge in local specialties like Italian beef sandwiches, Garrett popcorn, and craft beers from local breweries. There’s a little something for everyone, whether you want a quick snack or a full Chicago-style meal while watching the game. Plus, all the topping stations include everything you need for a Chicago dog.

Access

Getting to Wrigley Field is convenient, especially if you use public transit. The CTA Red Line stops at Addison Station, just a short walk from the stadium. Driving is possible, but street parking can be tricky, and nearby lots fill up quickly. Like Guaranteed Rate Field on the South Side, the best way to get to and from Wrigley is on the CTA.
