History
Opened in 2001, the Baseball Stadium at Patriot's Point sits across the Charleston Harbor from College of Charleston's campus. Part of a larger sports complex that also hosts the college's softball and soccer fields, Patriot's Point just feels quintessentially Charleston, making it a great place to catch a game.
Atmosphere
The Cougars faithful bring an engaged atmosphere to Patriot's Point, though there is little student support due to the field being separate from campus. The views from the stadium are gorgeous as it sits right on the water, and you get a beautiful view of the Arthur Ravenal Jr. bridge that connects Charleston to Patriot's Point.
Concessions
College of Charleston has one concession stand in the concourse, and it serves your ballpark classics like hot dogs, popcorn, and candy, as well as Coke products. One thing I appreciated is the beer selection, with some national brands as well as local brews. Outside food and drink isn't allowed, but there are local restaurants on Patriot's Point if you want to grab a bite before the game.
Access
College of Charleston offers free parking and plenty of lots, which is great on busy weekends. The main lot is past the park on the left, so prepare to go a little further than your GPS may take you. Patriot's Point can get busy, so for weekend games especially, prepare for a little traffic. By nature of being in Charleston, there are plenty of hotels in the area, though keep an eye out for price increases when Spring Break season hits.
Final Thoughts
When it comes to views, College of Charleston deserves to be in the conversation more than they are. It's a fun stadium with fans happy to talk about the program, and I found it to be one of the most welcoming fan bases I've come across.
