History
E.S. Rose Park in Nashville, TN has been home of Belmont baseball since 2011. It has seen the Bruins through multiple tournament championships as they moved from the NAIA level to Divison 1. Set just outside of downtown Nashville, for an off campus park, E.S. Rose does it right; it feels like the kind of park where fans can walk up and catch a few innings of great baseball before going on with their day.
Atmosphere
E.S. Rose Park boasts free admission, and I’m never going to complain about seeing free D1 baseball. This also makes it accessible to the community at large; folks using the other fields or walking trails at the park can easily pop in for an inning or two. Seating is a mix of bleachers and chairbacks, mostly dependent on how far you want to be from home plate. The home side of the field boasts the best view of the Nashville skyline, though, if that’s something you want to be able to enjoy.
Concessions
There is one concession stand behind the visitor side bleachers which serves ballpark classics plus hamburgers and cheeseburgers. Most folks, however, bring their own food; I saw everything from bags of fast food to coolers full of food and drinks.
Access
Getting to E.S. Rose Park is remarkably easy considering it’s proximity to downtown Nashville, especially with how close it is to the Gulch. There is free parking at the field, and plenty of lots close by; just keep an eye out as some spots in some of the lots are reserved for community members.
Final Thoughts
Belmont truly had some of the nicest fans I’ve ever caught a game with; they stayed engaged the whole game, answered questions I had about the program, and definitely give the Bruins a home field advantage. If you’re spending a few days in Nashville and the Bruins happen to be at home, it’s well worth popping in at no cost to you.
