History

On the edge of campus in Statesboro, GA, J.I. Clements Stadium has been the home of Georgia Southern baseball since 2005. The Eagles have appeared in 15 Regionals and 2 College World Series, and have won 13 Conference Championships and took the NAIA National Championship in 1962. With a long history of success, J.I. Clements is proud to show off that history as well as look to the future with a new club house and club seats. They also boast the only manual scoreboard in Division 1 baseball along the right field wall.

Atmosphere

J.I. Clements Stadium has free parking adjacent to the ballpark, helping make games affordable. There is a mix of chairbacks and bleachers, with the chairbacks being reserved and bleachers being the general admission seating. There is limited shade in the grandstand, so definitely bring your sun protection if catching a day game. There was a solid amount of fan support, though they weren't the most engaged.

Concessions

There are a few concession stands along the concourse, all offering the same selection. Prices are in the range of what's expected from a mid-major program. They offer Coke products (like most schools in the South), hot dogs, and popcorn as well as snack items. They also have a small merch stand in the stadium selling t-shirts and hats for anyone looking to pick up some Eagles merch.

Access

There are a handful of hotels in Statesboro, but it's only an hour north of Savannah which has plenty of hotel options. It's also about an hour and a half from Augusta, making it easily accessible from both the north and south for anyone coming from out of town.

Final Thoughts

J.I. Clements Stadium is a great mid-major stadium and falls easily in line with other Sun Belt Conference stadiums. The only real downside is the lack of shade, but if you catch a night game, this can easily be solved for. Tickets are pretty well priced, and I'd recommend it for a great day at the ballpark for those that love a classic feel with a few modern amenities.
